Killamarsh workshop

Work is a tad slow at the moment, waiting for new parts for the current loco to arrive, so I spent a few hours devising better storage for some of our equipment.

Tuesday’s walk!

was with the DFBS, our local walking group. Starting at Hollingwood Lock, the walk took us along the Chesterfield Canal, where we went past a piece of canal wall I had helped build, to Poolsbrook Country Park. And back again!
Never before had a white Snickers…a perfect accompaniment to a mug of hot chocolate.

Walking Weekenders

OK, the plan is to catalogue all the walking weekends we, a small group of pals, have done over the years. We take it is turns, sort of, to organise a venue, a few walks, and places we might be able to have a beer or two.
I , for instance, organised a walking weekend at Malvern…more to follow….

I have organised a walk or two over the years as a warm-up to the weekend away. Today, 10th Feb 2019, three of us, yes just three, completed the Drone Valley Walk, just a tad over 7 miles, from Dronfield to Chesterfield. Here are the pics.

Landie on the move!

Andy from ADM Motors Recovery arrived, and loaded the Landie onto his transporter, and took it to Guru Judd’s at not too far away Barlow, for the engine he finished rebuilding for me to be fitted in. Hopefully soon, Judd will have sorted it out, and it will be ready for the spring and summer season!

All that is left at home is an oily patch on the drive!

Movement for Landie!

The Landie will be moving to the workshop where Guru Judd has sorted its engine in the next few days….I was very keen for Judd to be able to finish the job…he knows Landies inside out, and I have every confidence. Thanks of course to son James who halped me take the engine out, and Chris Mills who helped me….I mean who I helped…put the bulk of the engine back together, with new shells and rings. We fell at the final hurdle, fitting new timing gear. Guru Judd will sort it…

Nice day for golf!

Though a tad chilly! Course was not very busy, but we had a great walk around. Here is my pal Pete about to tee off on the 6th, and my ball on the 8th green, or 8th white, for 2!
